Tori Ngatia, MS, LPCC
Owner and Therapist
Tori Ngatia is the founder and lead therapist at We Thrive Counseling. With extensive experience in the mental health field, Tori is passionate about supporting individuals of all ages children, adolescents, teens, and adults through life’s most difficult challenges.

Maddy Edwards
Clinical Mental Health Intern
Maddy Edwards, known to many as “Maddy,” is a dedicated Mental Health Assistant and a Master’s level Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at the University of Mary. She also completed her undergraduate studies at the same university, graduating a year early a testament to her drive and passion for learning.
Coming from a military family, Maddy has lived in many places and experienced a wide range of cultures and communities. This upbringing sparked her love for travel and her deep appreciation for diverse perspectives. Her background includes working with individuals from various cultural backgrounds, children with traumatic brain injuries, and volunteering at a therapeutic horse ranch for individuals with disabilities.
Maddy has always felt a strong calling to become a counselor. Growing up as a caregiver, she naturally gravitated toward supporting others, offering a listening ear, and creating safe spaces for people to feel seen and heard. She believes that seeking therapy is a sign of strength and is committed to using the tools and techniques she’s learning to provide compassionate, effective care.
At We Thrive Counseling, Maddy brings warmth, curiosity, and a genuine desire to grow in her role. She is grateful to be part of a team led by strong, inspiring professionals and is excited to continue building her confidence and skills as she works toward becoming a licensed counselor.

Darcie Mastel
Receptionist and Medical Biller
Darcie, a proud Bismarck native, plays a vital role at We Thrive Counseling as our Receptionist and Medical Biller. With a warm smile and a detail-oriented approach, she ensures that both the front desk and billing operations run smoothly. Whether she’s assisting clients with scheduling, answering questions, or managing insurance claims, Darcie brings professionalism, compassion, and efficiency to every task.

She is a devoted mother and grandmother to three wonderful grandchildren who are the heart of her world. Outside of work, Darcie enjoys spending time with her mother, listening to 80s rock—especially her favorite band, Nickelback—reading, gardening, and crocheting handmade dishrags. She also shares her home with three beloved cats: Sam, Hamilton, and Meako.
